This European Union Regional Development Fund project enables us to collaborate with businesses in developing products and services with a positive environmental impact. This might be through using your own data; from other people's data; and, from the huge range of environmental data generated by our partnership. Alternatively, we can support you in the research and development of new to market or business products. The partnership includes University of Exeter, Exeter City Futures, the Met Office, Plymouth College of Art, Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Plymouth University and Rothamsted Research. This broad set of partners enables us to provide specialist support for a wide range of different challenges you may face.
The Fab Lab Plymouth can collaborate with Devon based small to medium sized enterprises in developing new products using our digital design and manufacturing processes. This support is free to businesses working on developing products and services that have either a big data and/or an environmental futures element at their heart. The Impact Lab can also provide where applicable, grants from a SME support fund to cover 60% of the cost of additional goods and services bought in from outside the partnership.
Please contact Ben Mundy if you wish to discuss any aspect of the Impact Lab.

This project is part-funded by a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant awarded to establish an Environmental Futures and Big Data ‘Impact Lab’ in the Heart of the South West LEP area. With initial funding for three years, the Impact Lab will provide a business-focussed innovation ecosystem, which brings together the R&D assets and expertise of the area to generate innovation engagements between small and medium sized enterprises and the knowledge base, leading to the creation of new products and services.
